The RS25i strikes the balance of size, cost and optical quality that most long range hunters are actually looking for. Five to 25x on a 50mm objective gives you the magnification to read conditions and call your own impacts, in a 30mm tube that mounts on anything. The RH2 first focal plane reticle, the tool free zero, the adjustable zero stop and the Ambi Throw Lever were all built around how a hunt actually runs, not around a spec sheet.

Why the RS25i
The RS25i asks you to carry two more ounces and an inch and a half more scope than the RS18i, and it gives you less room on the turret in exchange: 80 MOA of elevation against the RS18i’s 100. That trade is worth it if you shoot far enough that magnification is the limit. If your shots are inside normal hunting distance, or you hunt country that punishes every ounce, the RS18i is the better scope and it is one hundred dollars cheaper.
